The assembly you are pointing atFelt: tuyrlyk, uzik and tundikWood: kerege laths, uyk, shanyrak, doorA typical six-qanat (six-section) Kazakh yurt, drawn to scale. Six kerege lattices and the door frame make a wall 4.9 m across and 1.6 m high. 66 uyk tie onto the kerege heads and six more stand on the door lintel; all 72 meet in the shanyrak. Four tuyrlyk wrap the wall, two uzik cover the roof and the tundik closes the crown. The ticks on the stand mark every uyk; the long ones mark the door jambs and the joints between qanat.
